![]() ![]() It would be nice if someone could comment more on the automix deal. I will soon have 2 macbook pro's - so I will use Megaseg on one of them, and then VDJ or Traktor on the other. I can tell that I will be using Megaseg for a long time for my cocktail and dinner playlists. I also look forward to doing some stuff with videos.Īnyway - I know that the full purchase price of Megaseg is alot - like $250 I think, but it may be a worthwhile investment for folks that are in the same position as me. Love some of the effects to that you can have at the push of a button - like spin back, awesome stuff. I love the sound effects/sampler bank - it's awesome to have. There are definitely perks to VDJ over Traktor, they are different programs overall, so of course. I just need to get a skin that works on my macbook pro in full screen, and that will make things better right there. I think that VDJ will be a great addition to my software collection once the final version for Mac comes out. Megaseg is awesome for this if you have a mac. Getting back into the mobile thing I have really wanted a great software program that automixes, just with fades and such for cocktail and dinner. I never actually used the program because I was mostly a club DJ - and TRAKTOR worked awesome for that. ![]() But it's still hard to develop stable software if it behaves differently on each OS version.I was having so much trouble getting the automix to work like is SHOULD work that I just went and purchased an upgrade to my megaseg that I had originally purchased 8 years ago. Note that if the mutex issue that I mentioned is the cause of these crashes, there was a good reason for crashing. But on Mac, every update appears to create - (or in this case, fix) - issues. In 15 years, we've only once had an issue with a crash due to a Windows update (when Vista came out, a bug in the Stereo Tool code suddenly triggered a crash during startup). Stereo Tool 1.12 from 2004 which ran on Windows 95 still runs without any issues on Windows 10, and the latest builds even still run on XP. On the latest OS X the new version is stable - but the old one was stable as well.Īs a side note, it's really annoying how every OS X version appears to change things. I'm not sure (we can't easily reproduce the issue here, because we don't have a system with older OS X versions anymore) but I'm hoping that this will fix the issue. We've switched to a different type of mutex, but there's no new build avaialble yet. We accidentally discovered this on a system where the number of threads (under CPU & Latency) was set high, which caused it to try to use more than 256 mutexes. There has been an issue with mutexes (somethng you can use to make parts of the program wait on each other) - as it turns out, Mac OS X only supports at most 256 mutexes PLUS files (of the type of mutex that we were using). Audio still plays but the bars are stationery.Īny ideas how to resolve this issue? Using High Sierra for the OS. But after it has run a while, the meters in the Levels area start to lock up momentarily. I've also noted that initially after the restart of ST I don't see any hesitation in the processing levels or meters. It won't burn discs, but I use it for the mobile DJ business I own so i really don't need to burn discs from my music collection. While the feature set is slightly different from iTunes, it is the best player I have ever used (Better than iTunes). I connect my headphones to an iMic and my main mix comes from the headphone out on the powerbook. Seems like a conflict with the software somewhere. MegaSeg I use MegaSeg to Play and Manage MP3's. Arkaos is running on the same machine as MegaSeg. CPU usage is also low in the system at less than 40% on average. I should note that both computers have 8 GB of memory and the usage of RAM is around 3.5 GB with all software running. This problem has only started with Loopback. MegaSeg Pro 6 for Mac has powerful features for professionals From radio automation, to video mixing for VJs, to music for retail, hotels and restaurants, to real time. think SOURCEFABRIC AIRTIME, MEGASEG, RADIOLOGY and RADIODJ.RO for the broadcast radio. I didn't have any trouble running one computer with Megaseg feeding the audio to the other computer with ST. I have just joined this forum, been using Mixx for a little while. It happens about every 30 minutes with the iMac and about every hour with the Mini. In every case after running the three programs on each computer, ST simply stops working and crashes. Currently using a 2012 Mini and 2012 iMac to test Loopback (now paid version) along with MegaSeg 6.0 Pro and ST on the same computer. ![]()
